Mommy & Me
Creative movement with song and dance routines. Integrating basic ballet and jazz for young dancers and their mommies.
Tap and Classical Ballet technique and terminology with fun sing along routines and dance games
A Ballet/Tap/Creative Movement class designed for 4-6 year olds. Dancers will begin to learn basic Ballet & Tap technique while being introduced to spatial and musical movements.
Ballet & Tap
Ballet– Classes focus on overall body alignment and awareness with emphasis on proper usage of feet and legs and execution of turnout. Carriage & usage of upper torso and arms are also emphasized. Traditional barre work, center work and combinations are included in all classes. Levels are progressive
Classes teach basic jazz dance technique, terminology and movement quality with an emphasis on proper execution of jazz isolations, rhythms and style performed to a wide variety of music.
Contemporary dance is a style of expressive dance that combines elements of several dance genres including modern, jazz, lyrical and classical ballet. Contemporary dancers focus on floor work, using gravity to pull them down to the floor Contemporary dance can be performed to many different styles of music.
Classes focus on basic overall body alignment and awareness with emphasis on proper usage of feet and legs and execution of turnout. Traditional barre work, center work and combinations are included in all classes.
Lyrical- Learn music interpretation through sustained extensions and expressive emotion. Lyrical is a type of dance that relies on a direct relationship between the lyrics of various songs/poems and specific dance movements. Students end recital performance in a Lyrical Routine.
Students are placed by in class evaluation. Tap focuses on rhythms and intricate footwork, creating a percussion instrument out of the dancer’s feet.
Upper level students take this class with ballet slippers for increased ballet technique and strength and pointe students who are on pointe dance in this class.
Pointe is an extension of ballet. It requires solid, consistent, and current ballet training coupled with strength in the legs and the core of the dancer’s body. This upper level class is available only to those taking two or more weekly ballet classes. **Subject to pre-requisites.
Home school Classes
Home school classes combine a larger range of ages and abilities emphasizing balance and rhythmic movement skills in traditional and non-traditional dance, developing loco-motor skills that contribute to movement proficiency
Hip Hop (Ages Vary)
Improvisation and personal interpretation are essential to hip-hop dancing. Get funky with today’s hottest moves!! ** Hip Hop attire is black hip hop sneakers, sweats or yoga pants (not baggy), and a tank top or fitted shirt.
Theatre Dance (All ages)
Musical theater dance is the study of Broadway dance and dance styles. Young students as well as teens and adults learn choreography from selected musicals, such as “High School Musical”, “Hair Spray”, “Annie”, “Fosse”, and many more.
Drama (All ages)
Students will learn; improv games, audition process, theatre terms and history, character development, cold readings, projection, stage presence, theatre dance, and read scenes from plays.
Zumba for Kids is everything you love in Zumba for children from ages 3-13. Teaches dance, exercise, coordination and self confidence.
Partners & Individuals work on, East Coast Swing, Lindy Hop, Charleston.
